Webber is known to be a physical adept, and is suspected to have initiated at least once. He does not possess any known implants. His reflexes are far beyond the metahuman norm, being equal to the capabilities of all but the most advanced cybernetic equivalents. Webber has displayed adapted senses, believed to include visual and aural magnification, increased visual sensitivity in low-light conditions, visual range into the infrared, and resistance to high levels of both light and noise. In 2056, he attained a black belt in karate from the Sensu Dojo in Chicago, UCAS; his skill is likely to have increased due to extensive self-training and combat experience, and the force of his unarmed blows has been augmented by magic to a great degree. He has likewise been highly-trained in the use of carbines and sub-machine guns; Webber uses the Heckler & Kock 227 by preference, often favoring the -S variant.
Webber's other skills include a familiarity with electronics, especially maglocks; he has an Associate's degree from the Milton College in Chicago, where he majored in home security systems. His schooling in this subject has likely been augmented by his experience with the O'Malley crime family and subsequent career as a freelance shadowrunner. He has been trained in stealth and ambush techniques, and shows a talent for thrown weapons; he has also taken nine credit-hours at the University of Washington in Seattle, with an apparent major in magical theory. Webber speaks English fluently, and can communicate without difficulty in Italian; he has shown a recently-acquired knowledge of Tagalog, during his activities in the Philippines. |

Webber uses sub-machine guns and carbines exclusively, preferring the HK227 and HK227-S; he is believed to possess one of each variant, both modified for his personal use with both integral smartgun links (ADVAT.328) and powerful laser sights, as well as customized foregrips. He has also been spotted using a Ceska Recluse. This highly-specialized pistol is designed with stealth in mind, containing almost no metallic components and being constructed with smart materials which mold the pistol grip into a flatter shape when not held in the user's hand, reducing the weapon's overall profile. When in public, Webber is known to conceal the Recluse in his right sleeve. He owns a small collection of other firearms, including a Colt Cobra TZ-110, an Uzi III, and at least one Savalette Guardian. Webber also has an array of grenades at his disposal, including at least five Ares HE-550 frangible explosives and a number of WhiteLight Hi-Power flash/bangs.
During his time in the O'Malley crime family, Webber wore a set of black CASMC infantry-style BDUs almost exclusively when working. He has since upgraded to a set of four-pattern Souix Surplus Battlewear fatigues; of the four possible patterns, he has been spotted in urban and black--the other two patterns are unknown. Webber owns a custom-tailored body stocking woven of web-based polymers, which he often wears beneath his fatigues, or beneath the Actioneer outfit he purchased seven months ago--the additional protection afforded by the body stocking is not immediately apparent during an encounter, as it is invisible beneath his outer clothing. Recently, Webber obtained a customized RimWire Personal Protective System. The PPS affords a low level of protection against small arms fire, and features a passive thermal dampener which doubles as a stopgap against air- and waterborne toxins. Webber's PPS has been further modified with a ruthenium polymer coating. He owns an ascent/descent harness, and shows familiarity with its use. Until recently, Webber was rarely spotted in public without his customized sunglasses, which have a wireless smartlink built into the earpieces. Six months ago, he was seen wearing a new pair of sunglasses, which were subsequently assensed as being a magical focus of some sort--probably an aid for centering. Webber obtained a carry-conceal permit for weapons of Type IV (SMG/Carbine) and lower, as prepayment for a recent shadowrun. He often drives a delapidated GMC Loderunner cargo van, painted a dull brown, but only when working--otherwise, he drives a 2063 blue-grey Ford Americar. |

| Webber was born to Jakeem and Shana Webber on 21 October, 2034. Jakeem worked as a metallurgist in Chicago, UCAS, and Shana worked as a janitor at the same facility. Webber grew up lower-middle class, in a blue collar family. In 2049, Jakeem and Shana were killed in a short-lived attempt by the Watada-rengo to gain a foothold in Chicago; unbeknownst to them, the building materials manufactory Webber's parents worked at was in debt to the O'Toole family, and the Watada-rengo hoped to cut into the O'Toole's profit by destroying it. O'Toole responded viciously, wiping out the Watada-rengo's small force almost completely. Webber, grieving and angry, offered his services to the O'Toole family, and began work as a footsoldier after the O'Tooles forged a death certificate for him--Marcus Webber officially died in the same factory fire that killed his parents.
Late in 2051, Webber began showing signs of being Awakened. Vinetto, then a sottocapo in the O'Toole family, arranged for Webber to be trained in the use of his abilities. He also took advantage of an unofficial CIA policy at the time, which allowed almost anyone access to advanced CQB/firearms training in exchange for under-the-table payments--the CIA was close to privatization at the time, and its Chicago offices were scrabbling for money any way they could get it. Webber garnered over 100 hours in the CIA's Chicago killhouse; this, along with his magical abilities, made Webber a prime asset to the O'Toole family, and he was inducted as a soldato in 2052. In 2053, he met Stella Martoli and began courting her despite her parents' protests. A short trip to Italy in late 2053 convinced Anthony and Anni that Webber was a suitable husband for their daughter; with their permission, he married Stella in May of 2054, adopting her son Johnny as his own. In September of that same year, Webber and his family moved to the Seattle Metroplex to work for the O'Malley family. It was about this time that other mobsters began to refer to Webber by the nickname "Italy", apparently in sarcastic reference to the fact that Webber fit none of the Italian mafia stereotypes. Webber performed satisfactorily for O'Malley, delivering flawless or near-flawless performances as a hitman for the crime family. Webber did jobs both inside and outside the family, protecting it from the advances of other syndicates such as the Watada-rengo (and, later, the Shotozumi-rengo), the Triads, the Seoulpa rings, as well as unorganized criminals; he also was an instrument of self-policing within the Seattle Mafia, killing those who worked to subvert the families. In 2058, O'Malley was assassinated by parties unknown. In the ensuing fallout, Webber's loyalty came into question; there was a motion towards killing him, but Vinetto's influence softened the new regime's position, and Webber was merely ousted from the Seattle syndicate. Vinetto introduced Webber to Val, a fixer in the Seattle Metroplex. His work for Val has reportedly been satisfactory, to include a job as bodyguard during a meet. In late 2061, he was contacted by Tybalt in relation to Tybalt's involvement with the setup work for the Renraku Arcology run. Webber joined Tybalt, Bella, and a number of other shadowrunners in the daylight extraction of Renraku CEO Inazo Aneki from a Hong Kong monastery. Following this, Webber and the team were commissioned by a mysterious hacker group called Overwatch to bring Aneki into the Renraku Arcology and somehow disable the rogue AI, Deus. Despite the seemingly suicidal nature of this endeavor, Webber and the team apparently completed their task unscathed. At some point during the Arcology run, Tybalt revealed the existence of his daughter Loriel, and his role as a mole for the Tir Ghosts. After emerging from the Arcology, Tybalt made the decision to break with the Ghosts; in the spring of 2062, he gathered a significant portion of Seattle's shadow talent and, with their help, extracted Loriel from the Tir's possession. Webber apparently played a key role in this, leading the team which handled Loriel's physical recovery--during the extraction, Webber's team faced down serious opposition, to include a young dragon in the employ of the Tir. The extraction was a total success; amazingly, none of the shadowrunners involved were killed, though many were seriously wounded. Webber has since taken part in several more high-profile shadowruns, as well as a number of smaller ones. |

Stella Webber neé Martoli. Date of birth 13 May 2035, to Anthony and Anni Martoli. Stella lived her early life in a country estate outside Rome; in December of 2049, she married Vince Medrano, son of Giorgio Medrano, capo of the Medrano family out of Rome; in June of 2050, she gave birth to a son, Johnny. Stella was widowed in the proscriptions following the fall of the Medrano family in 2051; that year, her parents moved her to Chicago, UCAS, where she ran numbers for the O'Toole family. She met Webber, then a legbreaker for the O'Toole family, in 2053; they married in 2054, the same year that Webber moved to Seattle to work for the O'Malley family. Stella continued to run numbers for the O'Malley family until its fall in 2058. Stella's cooking ability is of some renown in the Seattle shadow community.
Johnny Webber, date of birth 1 June 2050. Despite the fact that Johnny is not Webber's biological child, by all accounts Webber treats the boy as his own son. Johnny is aware of his father's business. Stella schools Johnny at home; he reads at a 10th grade level. His hobby is baseball; for the past three years, he has participated in the Bellevue Little League; his father coaches his team, the Thunder Chiefs. Anthony and Anni Martoli, respective dates of birth 23 August 2003 and 8 January 2004. Anthony was the consiglieri to Giorgio Medrano before the Medrano family was decimated in 2051; that year, he moved his daughter Stella to the UCAS for her own safety. Anthony and Anni survived the proscriptions following the fall of the Medrano family, and retired from organized crime afterward. Anthony still serves in an unofficial capacity as consiglieri to the Rome families, and his word continues to carry some weight in the Commissione. Connor Alan Tybalt, aka Connor Hathaway, date of birth 1 May 2035. Tybalt is a Webber's frequent partner in the Seattle shadows; the two met by chance when Webber requested assistance from an online 'fixer' node in repairing a faulty component of his HK227-S in the fall of 2061. Webber soon after offered Tybalt partnership in a shadowrun commissioned by Val, and the pair have worked together ever since. Significant jobs they have completed together include the infamous Renraku Arcology run of 2062. Tybalt is an extremely dangerous opponent, having been trained in the Tir Tairngire's "Ghost" specops battalion. Following a schism within the Ghosts' lower echelons and the accidental murder of Tybalt's wife, Tybalt was betrayed and left for dead. He survived, albeit as an amnesiac, unaware that he had a daughter--Loriel--who was being raised by the Tir government. Upon regaining his memory in 2061, Tybalt resumed working for the Ghosts, as an undercover agent in the Seattle shadows with his daughter apparently held as a hostage to his service. In late 2062, he rebelled; with the assistance of Webber and a goodly percentage of Seattle's shadowrunner elite, Tybalt kidnapped his daughter and broke his ties with the Ghosts, then offered his allegience to the Tir Prince Dar Varien in exchange for protection from reprisal. He is lethal armed or unarmed, and is especially skilled with the Ingram SuperMach 100. Tybalt is involved in a relationship with Bella. Belladonna, aka Bella; date of birth unknown, speculated to be 2035-40. Bella is a combat mage in the Seattle shadows, and the significant other of Tybalt. She was also a member of the team that performed the Renraku Arcology run; this accomplishment speaks for her abilities. Bella appears to be on friendly terms with Stella and Johnny. Val, date of birth unknown, speculated to be 2037-42. Val was introduced to Webber by Vinetto, and has served as his fixer ever since. Her web of contacts is wide, especially within the Seattle Metroplex; however, her ability to quickly obtain equipment is limited. Val appears to work on a basis of trust--she offers her stable of shadowrunners a full share of information, and deals with them honestly; for the most part, they reciprocate her attitude. Vinetto, date of birth unknown; speculated to be 2012-3. Vinetto brought Webber into the O'Toole family in 2052; his contact with Webber since has been infrequent, but the two remain friendly. Vinetto introduced Webber to Val in the late summer of 2058. Vinetto survived the transition of power from O'Malley to Bigio, but appears to hold little personal power in either family, nor the Commissione at large; what little political capital Vinetto may have had, he spent to keep Webber alive during the shift of power following O'Malley's assassination. Jacinda Elwye, a magician of some power and professor at the University of Washington. Elwye was apparently alerted to Webber's career as a shadowrunner shortly before the Renraku Arcology run; she has not turned him in to the authorities, despite working in the Seattle Metroplex government. This, among other indicators, points to Elwye being a shadowrunner herself, at least part-time, but inquiries into her activities have met with muddled failure. Elwye sometimes advises Webber on magical topics, and appears to keep an eye on his activities at the University. |
